CARD hosted a booth as a Gold Member Sponsor this year at the Disability Resource Expo 2024 held on Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Marketplace Mall in Champaign. The mission of the Expo is “To provide full access to information from a wide variety of agencies and organizations, to promote a better quality of life for people with disabilities in Champaign County and East Central Illinois.” CARD member, Matt Hanks, Ph.D. was present with his lab assistants, Jungsun Moon and Dustin Tran from the Disability and Movement Biomechanics Laboratory (DMBL). They were joined by joined by Sahel Moein, research assistant from the lab of CARD Director, Laura Rice, Ph.D., Disability Participation and Quality of Life (DPQOL) Research Laboratory. The goal of the CARD booth was to recruit participants for current research studies, connect with the community and other participating organizations, and to offer resources from the University. CARD and laboratory staff made several connections with both the community and fellow vendors. CARD plans to renew the Gold Member Sponsorship next year with hopes of providing more information on CARD laboratory research to the community.
