On Friday, October 18, 2024, CARD hosted the first AHS Student Research Fair at the Disability Resources and Educational Services (DRES) Center. The open house allowed CARD members to present and demonstrate their current research studies. This event provided students with disabilities an opportunity to provide feedback on the studies to the labs, suggest future research ideas, join a study as a participant, and for the labs to recruit undergraduate students associated with DRES to work with them as research assistants. During the fair, each lab was showcased by providing a brief introduction to their lab and research followed by time for the students mingle and visit the tables of their interest. The event was attended by 33 students and five participating CARD labs. CARD intends on making this an annual fall event with hopes of drawing a larger number of students and CARD labs.
